Closing Down Sale - All Styles Must Go By 3rd October

Tricker’s was established in 1829 by Joseph Tricker, who dedicated his life to practical boot-making. Following his death, his son-in-law Walter James Barltrop took over the business, and the family have been keeping to exacting standards every since, for five generations. Their reputation for sturdy, waterproof shoes and boots across two distinct collections means there is a Tricker’s shoe for any occasion.

The first Trickers country boot was created by Joseph Tricker’s son-in-law, when he was just 7 years old.

Tricker’s master shoemakers utilise their expertise to create each pair by hand, using traditional processes that take years to learn. Every shoe has a welted sole, meaning they are sewed rather than glued, which is longer lasting. Finally, each pair is finished and buffed by hand, ready for their new owner. This attention to detail means a pair of Tricker’s can easily last you a lifetime if cared for appropriately.

Each pair of Trickers goes through 260 delicate hand-crafted processes.

Tricker’s moved their operation to St. Michael’s Road, Northampton in 1904, where they still manufacture to this day. Northampton is the natural home of quality English footwear, and the local football team’s nickname is “The Cobblers”.
