I’m back again and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited! For the fashionistas out there, we’ve been in the midst of the most coveted event of the year, none other than London Fashion Week (LFW)!
Over the past week, the streets of London have been buzzing with press, fashion bloggers and the hottest influencers on the scene. British designers were in pole position, showcasing their fantastic new lines soon to hit stores for S/S and A/W 17.
Ben and I were lucky enough to get a sneak peak from the guys at John Smedley last week and their collection is one to look out for. They’re bossing what they call the ‘Smedley Medley’, a collaboration with Joe Richards who will be taking their historic brand into new territory with exciting and edgy knitwear designs. Chic would be an understatement! A former designer at Celine, Richards’ unique style will be sporting Smedley’s heraldic crest on the trendiest knitwear yet to hit this year’s winter collection. His creations are definitely on the wish list for my A/W wardrobe!
It doesn’t stop there for Studio, we’ve be chatting behind the scenes at LFW to Aspinal of London, Private White VC, Baia Bags and Isabella Queen to name a few. We are knee deep in samples, colour palettes and lookbooks, planning our debut collection for Studio’s online store launching later this year.
The last couple of weeks have been hectic - we’ve been in and out of meetings with some of the most distinguished British fashion houses, preparing for our next photoshoot and planning a round trip to some of the oldest clothing mills based in the north of the UK. We’ll be front and centre watching how some of the best garments in the world are made, plus we’ll be filming some exclusive footage. Watch this space! Ben’s excitement levels are through the roof right now - he’s already planning on wearing his Private White VC Mac when we visit their factory in Manchester, I mean not like they haven’t seen it before or anything! Bless him, like a child in a sweet shop...
Whilst we’re loving every minute of building this business, we wouldn't have got this far without our nearest and dearest… and a few bottles of red! This start-up life is definitely not for the faint-hearted!
We need YOUR support! Follow us @studiobritish and spread the word - there’s a new retailer coming your way and it’s one to watch!
